The Kintsa ritual
Sift, pour, whisk, sip.
New to matcha? The whole ritual takes about ninety seconds and changes the shape of your day.
01
Sift
Add 1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha to your bowl or cup and sift to keep the texture light and smooth.
02
Pour
Add 2 ounces of hot water, about 175°F, just enough to wake up the powder without dulling the flavor.
03
Whisk
Whisk briskly in a W motion for 15 to 20 seconds until the top turns bright and frothy.
04
Sip
Drink as is, or build it into your latte. The point is not speed. The point is the pause.
Ceremonial bowl
Usucha, the simple way
Sift 1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha.
Add 2 ounces of hot water at about 175°F or 80°C.
Whisk briskly in a W motion for 15 to 20 seconds until frothy.
Sip slowly and let the finish settle.
Latte method
Smooth at home, hot or iced
Whisk 2 grams of matcha with 2 ounces of hot water.
Add 8 ounces of steamed or cold milk.
Sweeten to taste if you like.
For iced matcha, pour over ice and enjoy right away.
Ritual over rush. A bright cup, a quiet minute, and a little gold in the everyday.
